Welcome to the North Hill Community Garden

Located at 1004 Martha Street North, our garden is located in the historic North Hill neighborhood of Stillwater, Minnesota. With the upcoming growing season, we will be celebrating our eighth year of planting seeds and growing communities.

2020 Plot Signup Information

Because of COVID-19, we will be changing how we run our plot signup day. Signup will NOT be in person. Instead, starting on April 7 we will be accepting applications by email only. Please send all requests to info@northhillcommunitygarden.org and do the following:

  1. Provide your name and phone number.
  2. Tell us the type of plot you would like: 9' x 9' ($30), 4' x 9' ($20), or an elevated, handicap accessible 3' x 9' ($15). Scholarships are available.
  3. Download and read our gardening agreement available here.

We will follow up with all applications to help you select a plot and to arrange payment. Applicants will be processed until all plots are rented.

Our History

Started in 2012, the North Hill Community Garden is run by a small group of volunteers who meet monthly to plan activities and improvements, tackle management issues, and serve as liaisons to our community. We all share a desire to gather, to learn, to grow food and to help strengthen our community.

Our Plots

In the past, we rented our 41 plots to gardeners of all ages, abilities and levels of expertise. If you are interested in renting one of our plots, we welcome any gardener living in the city of Stillwater. You can be a novice or a seasoned pro. For a list of our frequently asked questions, please visit our FAQs page.

Please visit our Plot Application page to see the layout of our plots, our plot fees and to download forms needed to apply for one of our plots.

Our Volunteers

Our garden was started by volunteers who wanted to build a community space where residents of Stillwater could meet, get their hands dirty, and grow something beautiful. Our garden continues to be run by an all volunteer staff. Without the many hours our neighbors have generously given to our little slice of heaven, we could not continue this opportunity. We thank them for making our garden a special space for all residents of Stillwater.

Interested Stillwater gardeners are welcome to join our hard working volunteers. Just drop us a line at info@northhillcommunitygarden.org

Our Partners

Our garden was also started and continues today because of these devoted organizations. We thank them for their ongoing support.

Friends of Stillwater Parks is a group of volunteers dedicated to promoting community involvement, civic pride and stewardship in Stillwater’s parks.
